Default Taming question

Is it possible to tame bears of any kind? See my name is Stern Bear and it'd be real cool if I could have bear.
If you can please tell me where and how, I'd be real grateful.
Thanks

Yes it's possible, but I'm not certain where. I only know I've seen a couple rangers with bears as pets.

I lost my Stalker in a mission that I've completed - which I guess means I can't get it back? Anyone know of any good places in post-searing ascalon for creatures that can be tamed - and are useful? If I could even get another Stalker that would be fine.
chrs

You can find stalkers where you found the first one for the Companion quest. Striders run around Ashford, Wolves can be found in the field of worms and in the icy mountain, Warthogs are availible north of the wall and (insert much easier explorable area here that I can't remember off-hand).

Thanks
The Bear I was able to get was from Beacons Pearch and heading out into Lommars Pass which by the way is infested with level 22+ Monsters so go in ready and bring PLENTY of help. The Bear is to the south.

Ive heard about the Lomars pass bears but I've also heard you can get the bears in Pre-Searing, and I'd really like to get one there.

is taming possible on any creature that has a "green" name? (ie. isn't hostile to start with) and is it sometimes possible on creatures that have "red" (hostile) names? I'm thinking about choosing ranger.... mostly because I want a pet. But I also want elementalist... I can only get taming if I"m a primary ranger?

no, you can only tame "animals" no dragons, no drakes, no golems. no, you get charm animal as a skill, not a bonus if you chose ranger as prim.
